Returning to the Midlands resevoir that myself and Aaron had success at earlier in the season, we arrived to find the venue only 60% full due to banks work. Seeing features we didn't know existed we tentatively headed out from the jetty with only inches of water underneath the boat.
We struggled to locate the perch for the best part of the morning but we eventually found a large perch in a shallower area of the res. This lead us to try some other similar areas and this paid off as we started to pick up some nice fish.
Aaron landed a number of lovely fish including a beast of a 3 that was golden in colour with only a faint hint of stripes visible. A number of fish we caught that day had the same colouration and the only reason we can suggest for this would be holding so close to structure in shallow water.
We hit into a consistent number of fish throughout the day and both myself and Aaron braced up on numerous occasions, drifting off areas to weigh and photograph fish before passing back over and engaging in another round of rapid bites. Using 2 rods were were able to optimize these opportunities and make the most of the fish were managed to locate.

Another brilliant day on the res and now following this session I have purchased a fish finder which should make locating them stripey sargent's a little easier away from the obvious features. This will also open up other challenges on other reservoirs across the country.
