The photographs below of my dad cradling Tidal Trent commons are ingrained into my memory as a child when i flicked through the cork bound photograph album. It was these very pictures which in turn lead me to the Tidal and was introduced to barbel. The species which ignited my angling and developed my mindset to pursuit specimen fish.

Accompanying my father on the grass banks of the River Torne and other small rivers from a young age. Watching monkey climbers and mounting size 20 hooks with a bread punch were all part of my tuition but the piece of advice that sticks with me most vividly is being confident in the decisions that you make.
‘With confidence, you have won before you have started’.
